![]() ![]() In my opinion, you'll be better off reverting to Windows Seven coz even if you fixed this problem, what is to stop Windows Update from updating your drivers in the near future, all without your permission? Latest is not always the best. You can also try system restore and revert your system to a date and time before the problem showed up, or apply the system image you took. This may force them to use the previous drivers before Windows update broke it. If the usb controller devices won't uninstall, try the rollback option instead. It's always a welcome idea to upgrade to newer or the latest hardware that are officially supported by newer system software, but that's mostly a trend thing. I have Windows 10 installed on a system older than that (Dell Optiplex 320) and it runs great. If it runs Windows Seven just fine, it should run 10 as well, and just because it doesn't have drivers specifically written for 10 doesn't mean it's not compatible. I don't think your CPU or pc in general is too old for Windows 10. Reboot your PC and install USB or chipset drivers that came with your system (on the supplied CD or from the manufacturer's website) to restore functionality to your usb controllers and devices. You can temporarily hide that particular update to prevent it from being re-installed, but if a newer version of the drivers are available in Windows Update, they will be automatically installed with the chance of your devices getting broken again! In order to hide the update, you'll need to download the wushowhide.diagcab troubleshooter and run it. This is hardly a permanent solution since it doesn't stop the update from being reinstalled as soon as you're back online. Search "view installed updates" and browse the list to identify which update to uninstall. In addition to changing device installation settings, you should uninstall whatever drivers were installed by Windows Update. Note that device installation settings do not affect Windows Update, they only affect installation of drivers when a new device is detected or when manually updating device drivers from Device Manager. Three more options will appear below it, so make sure to select "Never install driver software from Windows Update". Search for "change device installation settings" and select the second option on the dialog that opens. Check the option to delete software for them (use spacebar to tick/untick checkboxes, similar to mouse clicks).īefore you restart your PC, you might wanna disable automatic installation of drivers from Windows Update. Open Device Manager (navigate using your PS2 keyboard) and uninstall ALL USB controllers with yellow exclamation marks. In this case, you just need to disable auto lock screen feature in Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10, so that it won’t display to disturb you.I believe drivers were automatically delivered and installed via Windows Update, something you do not have much control over, thanks to Windows 10's mandatory updates. Tips: It seems that there are also some people who don’t like the lock screen in Windows 10/8.1 and wonder how they can stop the lock screen appearing. Then you can configure how long your Windows 10 screen turns off and how long your PC goes to sleep. For example, when you choose Weather, you will see your local weather displayed in text on your lock screen. You can choose an app to show a more detailed status. Or, select Slideshow from the drop-down as the lock screen background. ![]() Or click the Browse button and choose one from some other pictures saved on your Windows 10 as the lock screen background. Then choose one picture you like as your lock screen background. Select Picture from the drop-down box under Background. Then on the right pane, you can make some changes to your Windows 10 lock screen. Step 3: On Personalization panel, select Lock screen on the left pane. Step 1: Press Win icon on the Windows 10 desktop to bring out the Start menu. The key step will be opening PC Settings in Windows 10. Now here we just tell how to change lock screen in Windows 10. ![]() Occasionally, you may want to customize or make some changes to the lock screen, but can’t be sure how to perform this task in Windows 10. Generally, it displays defaulted background picture and your local time and date on the lock screen. ![]() When using Windows 8.1/8 and the latest Windows 10, the automatic lock screen must have attracted your attention, which can display when Windows boots up, screen leaves idle for a while. ![]()
